For a few years, some of my friends and I have been sharing music to listen to while we work. We’re supposed to review/rate what gets shared with us then share those reviews with the group, but that doesn’t always happen.

This week I’m continuing my tour through musical children of famous artists. But first, here’s what Tim shared this week:

T. Rex – Electric Warrior (1971)

Tim shared some classic glam rock. This is their sixth album, but their first not being psychedelic folk (although you can still hear it, especially on tracks like Girl or Monolith, which is almost psychedelic gospel, of the bonus track There was a Time).

Scissor Sisters – Ta-Dah (2006)

Tim described these guys as “a blend of old sound with new that just makes it sound fresh…. They just seem to pull from what worked in the past and make it sound modern.”

This is their second studio album.

John Denver – Poems, Prayers and Promises (1971)

Maybe Tim was inspired by my Jakob Dylan share last week (or maybe my share this week), but here’s some more country folk rock for you.

This is Denver’s fourth album. Early on in his career, he used other writers, and did covers. Here you get some Beatles, solo McCartney and James Taylor covers.

Zedd – True Colors (2015)

Tim went to LoveLoud (a benefit concert for LGBTQ+ youth organized by the frontman of Imagine Dragons) last week and discovered Zedd.

This is EDM, which we haven’t had a lot of, and that means lots of bass and a decent groove. This is his second album, and Tim thinks the better of the two he has out. But like most DJs do, he has collaborated a ton with other artists on their projects.
