I Probably Wouldn’t if I Could

Since the spring of 2014, some of my friends and I have been sharing music to listen to while we work. Sometimes we review that music and share those reviews with one another.

Dixie Chicks – Not Ready to Make Nice (2006)

This week I’ve not been feeling well, so combine that with the holiday … and that means I just shared one song. And since I totally missed the Grammy’s this year, I’ll make it a Grammy winner for Best Song. Continue reading

The Sun Shines, Climbs through Your Window into Your Bed

Since the spring of 2014, some of my friends and I have been sharing music to listen to while we work. Sometimes we review that music and share those reviews with one another.

This marks our 200th week – a couple months away from 4 years. So Spencer, Chris and Tim all shared something this week, it’ll be busy compared to participation in the last few months.

Joe Satriani – What Happens Next (2018)

Now, I love me some Satch, but I usually have to listen to his stuff mixed in with other stuff. Apparently this album is moving away from his “guitar athletics” and he’s focusing more on composition. Continue reading

There’s Got to be Something Better

Since the spring of 2014, some of my friends and I have been sharing music to listen to while we work. Sometimes we review that music and share those reviews with one another.

The Wallflowers – Bringing Down the Horse (1996)

This week I’m continuing the trend of bands I’m surprised we haven’t done yet. I feel like The Wallflowers were a staple of the mid to late ’90s. This is their second album, and while I really like their fourth and fifth, I thought if we were going to share one, it should be their biggest.

How much do I really have to introduce this album? Any single you know from them is probably from this record. It’s Jakob Dylan updating his dad‘s style of folk rock (and singing better)(and not being so political). It’s just solid ’90s roots rock. If you can get any of the bonus tracks, I recommend looking those up, too. Their cover of David Bowie‘s Heroes is great.

If my friends tell me what they thought, I’ll post their reviews here. Please leave your own comments (or music suggestions) down below.

Don’t Rush It

Since the spring of 2014, some of my friends and I have been sharing music to listen to while we work. Sometimes we review that music and share those reviews with one another.

Beach Fossils – Somersault (2017)

This week Chris chimed in with his #5 album of 2017 (side note: Chris does a music year-in-review on his blog if you want to check that out). Chris said this entire record laments personal and cultural strife, but somehow manages to maintain hope. So there’s something to keep in mind while listening. Continue reading
